There’s always something in most world folk musics that always seems connected; whether it’s a bagpipe or a tambura, there’s always some sort of drone instrument, and there’s always percussion.

The Castlewood Lion Pipe Band was formed in the spring of 2018 out of a love of Celtic music, a belief in group accountability, and the pursuit of continuous learning. The band is small, but growing, and is proud to put down its roots in the southeast Denver metro area, specifically near Parker and Elizabeth. The band is the cornerstone of events like the Elizabeth Celtic Festival and is looking to branch out to more venues in the near future.

Castlewood Lion prides itself on excellence, and its members strive to learn and grow through practice and dedication. It is also a teaching band, and anyone who desires to learn the bagpipes or drums is welcome. Check out the Join Us page for more information.
